Realising sustainable policies in practice (GAR Sustainability Report 2016)

Golden Agri-Resources (GAR), one of the largest palm oil plantation companies in the world, have published its 2016 Sustainability Report which described the progress of the company to implement the innovative approach in forest conservation by proposing the theme “Realising Sustainable Policies in Practice”.
The report described the consultative and inclusive approach ways to do conservation, and the activities of production which were supported by people-base living there.
Some of the highlights included:
– Achieved RSPO certification for 262,442 hectares of plantations including 51,149 hectares of smallholder estates.
– Methane capture facilities reduce 40 – 55% GHG emissions on site.
– 100% production waste was recycled.
