SUSTAINABILITY 2015: DELIVERING CLIMATE ACTION AND GOALS FOR A BETTER FUTURE

2015 was a historic year for the world with a new treaty agreed in Paris that limit greenhouse gas emissions and prevent global warming beyond two degrees, and the launch of new post-2015 sustainable development goals to ensure prosperity and environmental protection for future generations. Innovation and mindset shifts were critical for the systemic change we needed to achieve these goals. While there may have been a gradual move from business-as-usual to change-as-usual, some organisations embraced transformational changes such as new closed-loop and circular business models. At the same time, banks and asset managers increased their focus on sustainable finance. The 4th Responsible Business Forum on Sustainable Development gathered more than 600 business leaders, investors, NGOs and policy-makers from around the world to share innovations and agree on practical solutions for climate action and delivering the sustainable development goals.
