Travelling from the Airport to Maslow Convention Center

Option 1: Car or Taxi      

The Maslow Convention Centre is 20-30 mins away by car or taxi from the international airport.

  • Directions to the Maslow Convention Center:
  • From Johannesburg (Tambo) International Airport, take the R24 to Johannesburg
  • At the freeway interchange, follow N3 signs to Pretoria
  • At the next freeway interchange, follow M1 sign to Johannesburg
  • Take the Grayston Drive off-ramp then turn right into Grayston Drive
  • Take left into Rivonia Road
  • The Maslow Hotel entrance is on the left at the first set of traffic lights

Option 2: Gautrain service

  • The Gautrain rail service links the Tambo International Airport to Sandton.
  • The station concourse is directly linked to the departures level of the new Central Terminal Building, one level below.
  • Travel time is 12 minutes (Please note that there is 28-90 seconds allotted as “waiting time” for passengers who are boarding at each station).
  • A single journey from the airport to Sandton costs R151.
  • The train can also be taken from Sandton going back to the airport. The station is located in Rivonia Road with a pedestrian entrance at the corner of Rivonia Road and West Street.

Getting Around Johannesburg

By Taxi

  • Ride-hailing services such as Uber and Taxify are commonly used in Johannesburg. However, rates vary depending on the distance and time.
  • There are also metered taxi companies operating in Johannesburg although they are expensive. In addition, there are very few places where you can hail a taxi in the street. It is advisable to call and book in advance. Prices are usually arranged prior to the start of the trip.
  • Metered taxis are: 1) Orange Cabs (Tel. No: 0861 700 222); 2) Quick Cab (Tel. No: 0861 665 566); and 3) Zebra Cabs (Tel. No: 0861 105 105)
