Professional services firm Navigant has joined 200 forward-thinking global companies as the newest member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
Geneva, 4 December 2017: With a focus on markets and clients facing transformational change, and more than 40 offices around the world, Navigant serves the energy, healthcare, and financial services segments. The firm works closely with clients across all industries on sustainability solutions. In the energy sector, these clients include the world’s 50 largest electric and gas utilities, the 20 largest independent power generators, and the 20 largest gas distribution and pipeline companies.
The Energy practice’s 600 consultants collaborate with energy companies, governments, and investors, as well as large corporations and other businesses, to help them anticipate energy transition opportunities and risks to plot a sustainable path forward in a rapidly changing energy environment.
Jan Vrins, managing director and leader of Navigant’s global Energy practice, stated: “We are proud to be a part of WBCSD and look forward to sharing our expertise and ideas as we work together to create sustainable development solutions. Our insights across industry, government, and society are well-informed by a broad, global perspective and an intimate understanding of the profound changes occurring across today’s energy value chain as well as those that affect all industries.”
Navigant, which acquired energy and sustainability consultancy Ecofys in 2016, will provide expertise on topics such as city and urban energy development, grid modernization, corporate sustainability, and the circular economy.
WBCSD CEO and President Peter Bakker said “Consultancy firms like Navigant are the perfect partner for promoting the business opportunities in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With expertise in healthcare, energy, financial services and other areas, Navigant can assist the entire SDG framework, through both their own business and the many global firms that they work with. I look forward to working with Navigant to deliver added value to WBCSD initiatives in these and other areas.”
