The 5th Responsible Business Forum on Food & Agriculture recently convened in Jakarta where experts discussed challenges on scaling collaborative actions to achieve the sustainable development goals in Asia.

Below you will find 6 presentations given by:

1. Musdhalifah Machmud, Deputy to Coordinating Minister for Food and Agriculture, Indonesia titled “Scaling Solution of Land Use Challenges”. It shows how the Indonesian government is committed to reducing deforestation, recognizing the collective lands right of rural villages, and pursuing low-carbon development strategies.

2. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of National Development Planning and Head of National Development Planning Agency, Indonesia titled “Implementing Sustainable Development Goals to End Hunger, Achieving Food Security, and Promoting Sustainable Agriculture”. It shows the complexity of the SDGs and what Indonesia can do to help end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that everyone enjoys peace and prosperity.

3. Sanjay Sethi, Director Sustainability, Phoenix Group on Sustainable Agricultural Infrastructure. It describes different ways of implementing sustainable farming practices and how we can support sustainable agricultural development without damaging the environment or jeopardising natural resources.

4. Daniel Thong, Strategic Development, Halcyon Agri on the success of it’s Global Village project. It shows how creating a smooth operating supply chain can help produce the best natural rubber in the most sustainable way.

5. David Ball, SecondMuse, Director, LAUNCH Food on the opportunities available to support innovation in Indonesia’s non-digital sector, including sectors such as food, aquaculture, clean energy and sustainable fashion.

6. Tish Van Dyke, Global Food Sector, Edelman on scaling collaboration through trust, traceability & transparency.
