TRAN KHANH VAN

Dr. Tran Khanh Van is Vice Head of the Micronutrient Department at the National Institute of Nutrition where she is also a Head of Human Resources and Administration. She was coordinator of the project of national strategies for food fortification. The project is large in term of implementation scope and policy development. Dr. Tran Khanh Van received her medical doctor degree in Hanoi Medical School and received her Master of Public Health degree in the University of Massachusetts. She is pursuing her PhD degree at both university of Massachusetts and Copenhagen University. During her 22-year professional career, she has been involved in a number of research and community educational projects in different fields of micronutrient deficiency, food fortification, home fortification, and food labeling focusing on overweight and obesity control. She is also a key member of a group to develop important nutritional policies such as National strategies for nutrition, the National plan of action for nutrition, mandatory decree for food fortification and technical standard for food fortification.
