From 1988 Rathiphone Oula worked at Mother and Child Health Care (MCH) Unit, Provincial Health Office, Vientiane Municipality. In 1997 she took the position of Head of Primary Health Unit at Vientiane Municipality Provincial Health Office and in 2002 became project manager of Community Action for Preventing of HIV/AIDS supported by ADB. Supported by the Global Fund Flight AIDS,TB and Malaria, in 2005 Dr. Rathiphone became an assistant project coordinator for the HIV/AIDS project before taking the position of Vice Head of the STI unit at Center for HIV/AIDS and STI and then in 2012, Vice head of the Planning unit. In 2013 she became the Head of research and surveillance unit at Center for Nutrition and coordinator at National Nutrition Secretary and from 2014 to now is Deputy Director of Center of Nutrition , Hygiene and Health promotion, Ministry of Health.
