Charlie joined Syngenta Asia Pacific in 2017, where he leads the Business Sustainability team across Asia Pacific. Business Sustainability encompasses the registration of Syngenta’s products, promoting the safe and sustainable use by farmers and other users, and management of the company’s engagement with government, advocacy organizations, media and communities. Prior to joining Syngenta, Charlie served in public affairs roles in the pharmaceutical industry for 12 years in Asia and the United States, where he was responsible for advocating public policy solutions to expand access to medicines in a sustainable way. Charlie began his career in the early 1990s as an advisor to members of parliament in Australia before transitioning into public affairs consulting in Sydney, Beijing and Hong Kong with Burson-Marsteller, where he provided communications advice and support to government and corporate clients. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sydney.
