Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Golden Agri Resources

Mr. Widjaja is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Singapore listed Golden Agri-Resources Ltd. (“GAR”), an integrated producer of palm-oil based products. GAR operates about 485,000 hectares of plantation with over 100,000 employees. Mr. Widjaja is likewise a Vice Chairman of Sinar Mas, Executive Chairman of Singapore listed Sinarmas Land Limited, a property arm of the Sinar Mas operating mainly through investments in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and China.

He has also held the position of Non-Executive Director in Singapore listed Bund Center Investment Ltd, the property arm of Sinar Mas operating in China. In addition to his active involvement in businesses, he holds various positions in several organisations, i.e. Vice Chairman, Agribusiness and Food Sector, the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN); Co-Chairman of Partnership for Indonesia’s Sustainable Agriculture (PISAgro), Co-Chairman of World Economic Forum Grow Asia; Advisory Board, the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI); Advisory Board, the Employers Association of Indonesia (APINDO); Advisory Board, the Indonesian Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs Association (GAPMMI).

Mr. Widjaja is also actively involved in charity activities and is currently Vice Chairman of Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Indonesia, a non profit organization engaged in social, medical, educational and other charitable services. He is also the Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees of Eka Tjipta Foundation. Mr. Widjaja was educated in Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan with a Bachelors degree in Commerce. Mr. Widjaja enjoys swimming, jogging, reading, and traveling for leisure.
