Kulbir is an Agriculture Graduate from the Allahabad Agricultural Institute in India and has done his PGCCGM from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. He has more than 33 years of experience first as a planter and thereafter in leading business change, project/programme management and process improvement, primarily in agro produce manufacturing with the Tata Group where he was also a Senior Malcolm Balridge Business Excellence Assessor. He has deep expertise on sustainability across a range of commodities including palm oil, tea, dairy and aquaculture, and leads Solidaridad’s palm oil programme in Indonesia , working with smallholders in Kalimantan and Sumatra. He is responsible for implementing and managing Solidaridad’s smallholder IT platform – Rural Horizons – in South and South East Asia. He also leads the Tea program in the three South India states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Married with two children, he is an avid traveller and a decent photographer and golfer.
