Takalani “Taki” Netshitenzhe is the Chief Officer for Corporate Affairs of Vodacom. She joined the company in September 2016.
She spent 20 years in government mainly as a lawyer and Policy advisor in the security cluster. During those 20 years, in her legal and policy development and implementation work, as well as in her capacity as a Ministerial Advisor, Takalani developed well-honed public policy development skills and understanding, including stakeholder and relationship management skills. These were augmented during her 4 year stint as Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Hungary and Croatia. She also operated as CEO of an electronic communications security agency of the National Intelligence Agency (now State Security). She has received several merit awards which include the Hungarian Eotvos (ELTE) University commemorative medal and certificate for relentless efforts to promote academic and cultural collaboration between South Africa and Hungary, and deepening bilateral relations between the two countries. She was also awarded the Intelligence Services Woman of the Year award for meritorious contribution to the South African intelligence policy and legal dispensation. Takalani was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 1996.
