Founder
L’Africaine d’Architecture & WoeLab
25 - 27 JUNE 2018, SOUTH AFRICA
After having created in 2010 L’Africaine d’architecture , a platform for thinking about smart cities, Sénamé Koffi Agbodjinou, an independent researcher in architecture and anthropology, founded the Woelab in 2012 . Defined as the Technological Democracy Space, the Woelab welcomes, trains, incubates and accelerates a dozen projects with high added value, registered in the #LowHighTech movement , aiming to develop cutting-edge projects with accessible resources.. It thus promotes the maturation of a Togolese startup ecosystem. Open and collaborative place, it is managed in a collegiate fashion, by a community of twenty residents, the female third, an average age of 20 years (13 years for the youngest) and all profiles (from the engineer to the craftsman).
Among the projects supported by Woelab is W.Afate, the first “Made in Africa” 3D printer made entirely from electronic waste recycling, awarded by NASA in 2013.
