SYNGENTA | Mar 26, 2018
A new report shows how Syngenta has become an indispensable part of the solution to global food challenges. The Good Growth Plan is a key differentiator for Syngenta in APAC, guiding and focusing efforts on improving the sustainability of agriculture. In particular, the giant biotechnology company seeks to empower millions of smallholder farmers who are responsible for most of the agricultural activity in the region. The six commitments help Syngenta quantify the difference the company makes and enables them to meaningfully contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Some of the highlights of the report:
– 90% of chemical suppliers globally included in Supplier Sustainability Program
– Average yield improvement of 12% and a 23% improvement in farmer profitability in Indonesia
– In South Asia, Syngenta have leveraged 64 reference farms to engage a wider community of 23,000 farmers
