Biodiversity – Making It Work on a Modern Farm

On the English farm called “The Grange” farmer Andrew Pitts brings modern agriculture and the protection of biodiversity together. He is supported by the European Farm Network, a BASF partnership with experts for agriculture and nature protection. One of the measures is the planting of flower strips in unprofitable field areas which combines what’s useful with what’s agreeable: the high yielding fields are used for cereal production among other things while at the same time creating new habitats for wildlife.
