Huawei Technologies has released its 9th sustainability report which summarizes the company’s performance in sustainable development, strategy implementation and business practices for 2016.
The report, which is titled ‘Connecting the Future’, tracks the progress in the fight against global climate change, new initiatives to address the digital divide, the company’s responsibility to maintain the stability and security of telecommunications networks, and its work in supporting the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Highlights from the 2016 Sustainability Report include:
- Delivered a Smart Healthcare Program to Kenya to benefit 20,000 people
- Increased the energy efficiency of major products by 28% on average.
- Invested CNY11.2 billion in employee benefits.
The company wants to establish and maintain fact-based external relations to ensure that they build trust with the stakeholders, and in the long run build a prosperous ecosystem for the company to sustain its long term development.
