By 2050, 70% of the world’s population will live in cities, making cities critical in achieving a sustainable future for the world. The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) look to mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind. SDG 11 is about making cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Many challenges exist to maintaining cities in a way that continues to create jobs and prosperity while not straining land and resources.
